Understanding Clients Without Clarity

When working with a fashion client who doesn’t know what they want, I start with active listening. I ask open-ended questions about their goals, their audience, and what they don’t like — sometimes it’s easier for them to express what they don’t want first. I also look for clues in how they speak, their mood, or any words they repeat. This helps me find a direction.

Next, I show them visual references — not to copy, but to help them react. I pay attention to their expressions and what excites or bores them. This is where I pick up their unspoken preferences. From here, I start building a concept mood board with sketches or themes based on their reactions.

I explain each idea in simple terms, not design jargon, and stay open to feedback. If they’re still unsure, I create two or three mock ideas with different styles. This gives them something real to respond to.

I believe in collaboration and patience. My job isn’t just to design — it’s to guide the client and turn confusion into clarity through empathy, creativity, and strong communication.

Design

Brand’s Name

I created the name ANKTIV by blending the word “Ankh,” which is an ancient symbol of life and energy, with “Active,” to represent movement and strength. This name reflects the brand’s purpose — bold, cultural, and full of life.

Brand’s Logo

The ANKTIV logo is made with clean, sharp letters to show strength and movement. The two arrows upward implies movement, moving upward implies energy. The icon as a whole is the simple fictional icon for the Anch symbol. The custom "K" shape adds a unique style that matches the brand’s bold and active energy making the brand stand out. The style is simple but strong, just like the meaning behind the name.
